I was involved in arranging Karith to come to campus and the process was smooth and easy.
Karith’s presentation was well received by our students and faculty. The faculty came away touched and heartened by her approach to diversity and inclusion; her message resonated deeply with them. The students appreciated her humor, wit, and sensitively on this topic. Please find copies of the survey forms we handed out. I hope they can be of use to you.
In a world where universities are thrusting diversity training on faculty and students, Karith Foster’s approach is a genuine breath of much needed fresh air. Her use of humor, sincerity, empathy, and personal life experiences resonate with college students and faculty alike. Her talk reminds us that while diversity and mutual respect is an important issue, we cannot let it become so heavy that it becomes more of an anchor rather than inspiring us to be better and embrace our humanity. Her approach to “inversity” is much needed in a time where we need to come together and appreciate each other rather than continue to build barriers.

I am the coordinator that worked with our students to bring Karith to campus. Working with Karith was a dream. She is so easy to work and communicate with. Her professionalism and demeanor was great. She was so calm and collected during the process of getting her to campus, going through our tech check the day of and her meeting with the small group of students at lunch before the program was a great success.
The presentation was timely on our campus. Her presentation skills and ability to relate to the audience she is performing to are totally professional.
My take away was that we need more dialogue on the subject of stereotyping, especially to the students of today. Our campus has a great Diversity and Inclusion Effort as part of its mission and I have engaged in it. I hope to keep the conversation going and improve and enlarge its scope.

I think that everyone can benefit from the information that Karith shares with her audience. It is imperative in such a culturally diverse world that we live in today to understand that no two people are alike, in any way - and that is truly a beautiful thing. It is important to have this conversation about our natural unconscious bias, something that people, especially here in the south, often struggle with on a day-to-day basis. The biggest takeaway from this presentation is the importance of eliminating those predetermined beliefs about certain groups of people, and educating yourself on diversities and overall being more caring and responsive towards others. Karith is such down-to-earth and relatable speaker, it makes it that much easier to engage in the discussion and be receptive to the message presented.

The South Dakota Safety Council recently invited Karith to be a keynote speaker at our 26th Annual Safety & Health Conference in Sioux Falls on October 3, 2018. Our attendee feedback strongly showed they truly enjoyed and appreciated hearing from Karith on her Stereotyped 101 presentation. Diversity, inclusion, harassment and other tough topics are never a comfortable discussion to have, and oftentimes difficult to understand, in the workplace and beyond. But Karith put it into perspective and showed how individuals can have healthy discussions and be understanding of others without it being a confrontational or uncomfortable situation. Karith’s use of humor was a great way for attendees to learn about and develop strategies to deal with these topics. I am already on the lookout for other opportunities to bring Karith back as a speaker for our organization. I would highly recommend Karith for your next conference, meeting or event.

I was privileged to have a role in setting up the event with Karith. She was great to work with, so patient and easy-going. She gave a very professional and humorous presentation and had a great dialogue with the students. Karith's talk was relevant and relatable. She doesn't just talk about ethnic or racial diversity, but also about socioeconomic diversity. Karith talks about diversity in a loving way.
