I was involved in arranging Karith to come to campus and the process was smooth and easy.
Karith’s presentation was well received by our students and faculty. The faculty came away touched and heartened by her approach to diversity and inclusion; her message resonated deeply with them. The students appreciated her humor, wit, and sensitively on this topic. Please find copies of the survey forms we handed out. I hope they can be of use to you. In a world where universities are thrusting diversity training on faculty and students, Karith Foster’s approach is a genuine breath of much needed fresh air. Her use of humor, sincerity, empathy, and personal life experiences resonate with college students and faculty alike. Her talk reminds us that while diversity and mutual respect is an important issue, we cannot let it become so heavy that it becomes more of an anchor rather than inspiring us to be better and embrace our humanity. Her approach to “inversity” is much needed in a time where we need to come together and appreciate each other rather than continue to build barriers. Derek K.
